About

The Local Fisherman is a project that was created by Fishing Industry Expert and Web Expert Dennis Suler, Jr. Dennis has been involved in the fishing industry for nearly 20 years when he began writing for a small weekly newspaper chain in Eastern New Jersey.

Since working at the weekly paper, he became the weekly Outdoors columnist at The Phillipsburg-Easton Express-Times for 5 years, then moved to The Fisherman Magazine where he was a Field Editor and Features Writer. Eventually, he was Managing Editor for The Fisherman’s Mid-Atlantic Edition and Field Editor for The Fisherman’s New Jersey edition, contributing to all of The Fisherman Magazines, including the Mid-Atlantic and Long Island editions.

In addition to being Managing Editor of The Fisherman Magazine and being published in fishing books, Dennis has also been involved of the manufacturing side of the fishing industry as well. He was President of The Angler’s Way, a fishing company that created fly fishing collections that helped the beginning and intermediate fly angler catch more trout. During his time with The Anglers Way, he designed fly fishing collections and worked with experts including Gary Borger, traveling internationally and overseeing design, engineering and manufacturing of fly fishing collections. These collections were sold to major retailers and independent dealers, including Cabela’s, Gander Mountain and other major fly fishing stores.

About The Local Fisherman

The Local Fisherman is Dennis’ latest foray in the fishing industry, filling a large gap that no one has been able to fill — providing a place for anglers to get all the information that they need to catch fish. From basic how-to fishing tutorials and information on the fish that they target to information on how to fish the hotspots in their area.

In addition, The Local Fisherman also provides information on fishing tackle, providing guidance on the best fishing tackle for specific applications. Anglers can also link to their local state Division of Natural Resources websites so they can understand the latest fishing rules and regulations and license requirements for their specific area. Videos, photo galleries and forums will be additions to the website as the site becomes more user-focused and content is user-created.

In the future, anglers will set their home page to The Local Fisherman so they can see the action whenever they log on the Internet.
