I happened to run across this fishing report and noticed the part (copied and pasted below) attributed to Cotter Trout Dock. Cotter Trout Dock (that's me) did NOT "say" ANY of this!!!
First of all, fishing is hardly ever slow for more than a few hours around here and is never VERY slow!
We do not fish by the dam very often. We are located 18 miles below the dam at Cotter and I have never fished for stripers in my life. I also know how to spell bite :)
QUOTE:
"Cotter Trout Dock said fishing is very slow. The best time to try to get a bit is early morning or just after dark. Fishing during the first hour of generation may produce a bite. Fishing for stripers by the dam is recommended."

I bought the 7 foot spinning rod to test for travel. So far I have only used it on one
river salmon fishing trip in Washington.

For an under $20 rod it worked well for me, landing a 10 pound silver salmon.

I don't think anyone should expect a high quality rod for this price range, but for the money, I
would consider this a good backup travel rod and worth purchasing. Treat it gentle, I don't think they
are made for abuse and you may find it a worthwhile rod to have for traveling.

I wish the seller had a lighter weight model.

I have a lighter telescopic rod from Germany that is better made, but cost four times as much.

If I were traveling to a remote destination, and didn't want to carry my customized travel rods, I would consider buying two or three so I would have a backup. If they were not needed, I'd probably make a local fisherman very happy gifting the backups to him.

The size limits are set too high.I caught a lot of flounder the last three seasons only to be allowed to keep three. It is very frustrating and expensive. Please consider allowing us to keep at least one @ 18 inches for dinner.Thank you

I really love fly fishing. The reason I love fly fishing is that it requires a certain skill to get it right. Another thing about fly fishing is around here where I live, nobobdy hardly does it. My favorite fish to catch are Trout. Great post.

I am wondering that our planned fishing trip to the Texas Gulf is on the rocks for the time being. Maybe fly fishing in Nebraska or North Carolina would be a good choice instead. Picking a good spot for stream fishing is my main certain. I hear they have clean water with plenty of fish.

Hi This is a great website, and found the post interesting, this will my results especially when im competing,I will check back for tips. Should you ever find some unheard of tackle be sure to place them on your blog, for years I used a abu garcia reel but the okuma reels accommodate my fishing style nicely, the smoothness of these reels make fishing more pleasureable.
